The warm air hit Sonic's face as he walked along side the shore that the tide carelessly washed on with the gentlness that a mom has to her colt. It was a quiet day and the beach was desolate except for the occasional pegasus flying above. Sonic turned around and stared into the ocean and sighed. This was where "she" liked to go. Where "she" liked to talk about her hopes and dreams and he carefully listened. "Where did it go?" Sonic asked himself.

His happiness was strong when "she" was there. His sadness was weakened when "she" stood next to him. "She"...was his safe haven from all that was bad and his provider of all that is good. "Where did it go?" he asked himself again.

Her image was indented into his mind. From her mane to her tail. He closed his eyes and "she" was there. He stared into the reflection of the ocean and "she" reflected back at him. "Where did it go?" he continued to ponder.

Sonic turned and continued to walk down the shore. He looked forward and saw a mare standing in the distance. He thought to himself, was it her? Had "she" come back? He ran with hope and happiness. His heart racing with excitment. He continued to run but then slowed down. His face slowly turning into sorrow as the mare slowly dissipated. A mirage.

He sighed and a tear dropped into the sand. He knew it was too good to be true. Sonic turned around and began to walk back home. "I wish she was here..." he said to himself.
Another story. I hope you like it.

It's not very often that a story on a page gets me to react this way. Now I really am curious.
